'Lemmy' Filmmakers Interviewed By AlloMusic.com (Video)
December 10, 2010AlloMusic.com recently conducted an interview with Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski — directors/producers of "Lemmy", the long-awaited documentary examining the life and career of MOTÖRHEAD frontman and rock icon Lemmy Kilmister. You can now watch the chat below.
"Lemmy" (full title: "Lemmy: 49% Motherfucker 51% Son Of A Bitch") will be released on DVD (a two-DVD set "loaded with incredibly awesome bonus"),Blu-ray and digital download on in the U.S. on February 15. In mid-January, the film will hit select theaters in the U.S. (mostly major markets).
"Lemmy" co-director/co-producer Wes Orshoski told BLABBERMOUTH.NET, "We can't wait for the fans to get their hands on the DVD, which will be a two-disc set in most of the world. The North Amercian version of the film will be the only one to carry all of our bonus content, which we slaved over night and day for something like 35 days straight last summer. We wanted to really serve fans and give them everything that we could. Basically, we designed the U.S. DVD release to be a treasure trove of everything Lemmy. People will get the movie, and then something like four hours of bonus content. More details on that coming soon, but needless to say, the fans will be stoked!"
An official trailer for "Lemmy" can be viewed below.
"Lemmy" will be released in the U.K., Germany, France and Scandinavia on DVD by Entertainment One on January 24, 2011. The film premiered in the U.S. in March 2010 during the South by Southwest at the historic Paramount Theatre in Austin.

Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski spent three years following Kilmister around the globe — from his Hollywood home to the hockey arenas of Russia.
"Lemmy" features appearances by such high-profile Kilmister friends/peers as METALLICA, Dave Grohl, Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, Billy Bob Thornton and pro wrestler Triple H.
Hailed as a godfather of heavy metal, 64-year-old Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister has established himself as the living embodiment of rock and roll over the past four decades. After stints with popular Mersey beat band THE ROCKIN' VICKERS and influential psychedelic rockers HAWKWIND, and even a brief time spent as a member of Jimi Hendrix's road crew, Lemmy formed MOTÖRHEAD in 1975.
Going on to record such influential metal classics as "Overkill", "Ace of Spades" and "Bomber", the Grammy Award-winning MOTÖRHEAD and Kilmister's fusion of punk and metal registered a major influence on such bands as METALLICA, GUNS N' ROSES and NIRVANA.
2010 marks the 35th anniversary of the birth of MOTÖRHEAD, which features Kilmister, guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee.
